Drew Brees And The New Orleans Saints Are Going To Superbowl XLIV! Who Dat?

I Believe!

I live in Louisiana and I am a member of the Who Dat Nation. But I have a serious problem with the New Orleans Saints. Don't get me wrong. I love the New Orleans Saints. However, it's only been less than two hours since the Superdome in New Orleans exploded when the Saints defeated the Minnesota Vikings. And won the 2009 NFC Division Championship. And Louisiana was changed forever. Now we have bragging rights. Whose pants are on the ground now?

For those who need a short sports history lesson, the New Orleans Saints played their first regular season game on September 17, 1967 against the LA Rams. Under Head Coach Tom Fears, the Saints ended the season with a 3-11 season record. That was 43 years ago. The Saints fought their way back tonight to victory! Did you predict that the New Orleans Saints would win? You were not the only one. We believe! http://hubpages.com/hub/New-Orleans-Saints-Success.

Bragging rights? I need lessons. I am absolutely giddy tonight. They can't get the Who Dat Nation to leave the Superdome. My bff just brought me a championship t-shirt. After she waited in line for hours to get it. I can't sleep. Nobody will sleep in Louisiana tonight. January 24, 2009 will go down in history. Like the day Hurricane Katrina hit and changed our lives forever. We will never forget the field goal that clinched it for us. For forty-three years we have waited for this moment!

Now I have Who Dat Fever. It's worse than Superbowl Fever. There is no known cure. It's hopeless. My heart is racing. I have the uncontrollable urge to paint everything Black and Gold. I can't get Miami out of my mind. I can't stop doing the happy dance. It's all their fault. It's the fault of the Saints that the post-Katrina fatigue we all experienced is finally over. It's the fault of the New Orleans Saints that I am writing this blog at midnight.

Stay tuned as the Who Dat Nation marches to Superbowl XLIV and victory. Blame the Saints. Sweet.

The Day After: Whose Pants Are On The Ground Now?

Minnesota Vikings fans, you have my heartfelt sympathy. Your esteemed quarterback Brett Farve spoke prematurely. Whose pants are on the ground now? Today there will be a great deal of controversy and trash talk concerning last night's NFC playoff game between my beloved New Orleans Saints and your beloved Minnesota Vikings.

Don't get me wrong. I lived in Viking territory for five years. Our USAF family was stationed in Grand Forks, North Dakota back in the late 80's. That was then. This is now. Come on, be good sports. It's all about the joy of the game. Take the crying towel. I'll send you one. And after you finish, put on a New Orleans Saints jersey and ride to Superbowl XLIV with us. Bring your sunglasses. You will need them in Miami.

Day 2: Do You Have The Black And Gold Flu?

Be on alert for any New Orleans Saints fan exhibiting symptoms of the Black And Gold Flu. Take all precautions. Black And Gold Flu is highly contagious. It is prevalent after every NFC divisional playoff game won by the New Orleans Saints. Symptoms will increase in severity after the Superbowl Sunday win by the New Orleans Saints on February 7, 2010.

10 major symptoms to watch out for are listed below. More symptoms are expected over the next two weeks as New Orleans Saints fans wait for Superbowl Sunday:

1). An uncontrollable urge to shout " Who Dat?! " at all times.

2). Sore throat and hoarseness after continuing to shout " Who Dat?! ".

3). Talking in a low whisper after refusing to stop shouting " Who Dat?!".

4).The inability to remove one's New Orleans Saints jersey or t-shirt from one's body which is painted black and gold.

5). Aching arms from constantly doing the " Who Dat Dance " to every New Orleans Saints music video now posted on You Tube.

6). Inability to function effectively at work at the mention of Superbowl XLIV in Miami.

7). Bursting out into tears after speaking the name " Drew Brees " in public.

8). Muscle strain and aches from carrying all that official NFL New Orleans Saints stuff out of the stores.

9). Compulsive buying of New Orleans Saints stuff online.

10). Eye strain from constantly searching for New Orleans Saints stuff online.

Day Three: We're Bleeding Black And Gold

Somebody call 911! New Orleans Saints fans need help. We're Bleeding Black and Gold! I am calling all Saints fans from across the country to join us in Miami, at Superbowl parties, or online on Superbowl Sunday. February 7, 2010 will be a critical day for us all as we show up to bleed Black and Gold. Finally, after three days,I have hung up my 2009 NFC Divisional Championship t-shirt in a place of honor. Now on to buy more Saints stuff to wear. Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by a sea of Black and Gold. We're bleeding Black and Gold!

Follow me as I do the Superbowl countdown ( day 1-7 ). Stay with me for the final seven day  Superbowl countdown ( day 8 - game day ). I will be writing another hub! Whoo-Hoo!

Day Four: Meet The Saintsations!

You didn't know about the Saintsations? The New Orleans Saints Saintsations are the best cheerleaders in the NFC! Oh, yeah, baby. Amanda T. from Brandon, Mississippi, was selected as the 2010 New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl cheeleader. She was selected by her fellow Saintsations based upon her dedication to the cheerleading team. Amanda T. is a role model for young girls and represents the New Orleans Saints organization through public service.

Check out the Saintsations at www.saintsations.com.

Day Five: War Declared On The " Who Dat " Nation By The NFL

Calling all New Orleans Saints fans in Louisiana, across the nation, and abroad: Help! The NFL has declared war on the " Who Dat " Nation. This is a call for all members of the " Who Dat " Nation to put on their " Who Dat " t-shirts and declare a resounding " NO!" to the actions of the NFL. " Who Dat " is in the public domain and belongs to all Saints fans.

Go online and sign the petition issued by Louisiana's Senator David Vitter. http://www.DavidVitter.com. Our battle cry has reached all the way to Capitol Hill.

Day 6: NFL Defeated By The " Who Dat! " Revolution

The war against the " Who Dat " Nation by the NFL is over. Never before has such an attack been waged against football fans anywhere across the nation. Cooler heads and common sense ruled the day. Our thanks to Senator David Vitter for leading the fight to victory! No one owns " Who Dat " except the " Who Dat " Nation! Sorry, NFL. You lose on this one.

Day 7: The Countdown Begins!

Day 7 of the Superbowl XLIV Countdown. Black and Gold Fever is now complicated by Superbowl Fever. Still no know cure. All of the " Who Dat " Nation is infected now. It's too late to find an antidote. There is no vaccine. We're going to the Superbowl! This is our team! This is our time!

I will be wearing Black and Gold each day until Superbowl Sunday. Wearing #9 and #19 of the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Brees. Wide Receiver Devery Henderson. You know about our beloved Drew Brees, of course. But how much do you know about Devery Henderson?

In Opelousas, Louisiana, Devery Henderson's hometown, a parade was held today for their favorite son. If the Saints win the Superbowl, the mayor of Opelousas has promised to name a street after him. Let me tell you about this NFL star. His talent emerged first at Opelousas High School. In Devery's senior year, he rushed for 1,322 yards and 20 touchdowns.

In, 2001, Devery Henderson was a member of LSU's national champion indoor track and field team. Devery ran the second fastest 60-meter time in LSU history, at 6.72 seconds. As a member of LSU's NCAA-qualifying 4x100 relay team.

As a New Orleans Saint, he has had 13 receptions for more than 50 yards. Watch Devery Henderson move on Superbowl Sunday!
